Armando Iannucci to headline festival of inspiration, innovation and ideas

Research 2010 programme includes Dragons’ Den and Stephen Sackur Question Time<p> 10 December 2009: Research Conferences has announced a show-stopping line-up for the industry’s flagship event Research 2010.<p> Critically-acclaimed writer, director and producer Armando Iannucci (In the Loop, The Thick of It, Alan Partridge) will open the two-day conference on 23 March at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank, with inspirational thoughts on the changing media landscape, public disengagement with government and corporates and the inevitable role of comedy.<p>24 March will kick off with an equally captivating keynote – James Woudhuysen. As Professor of Forecasting and Innovation at De Montfort University and one of the UK’s top corporate advisors on the future of technology, James will share his views on how future trends can inform decisions on strategy, R&D, innovation and marketing.<p>Now in its 53rd year, the landmark conference will draw on speakers from client and agency side, government and media, from home and abroad, to give delegates an inspiring view of where global market and social research is heading. Innovative new formats will capture some of the industry’s latest thinking – including a unique Question Time panel session chaired by BBC Hardtalk host Stephen Sackur.<p>For those up for a challenge, entrepreneurial researchers are invited to pitch their concept of the research company of the future at the Research Dragons’ Den. It’s a quick fire session to identify the real potential in the industry.<p> And for the first time this year, MRS will deliver the Research Hothouse – a programme of mini-skills sessions to help all from junior executives to the more seasoned practitioner hone their vital core skills.<p>No annual conference would be complete without the hugely popular Illuminas Party on Tuesday 23 March, held for the first time at the Waterloo Brasserie, one of the South Bank’s finest restaurants.
