Asda bolsters mobile offering with transactional iPhone app
Asda has introduced a transactional iPhone app that allows customers to buy groceries and check prices against its Price Guarantee on the move.

Customers can check the price of their shopping against rivals by using store or online delivery receipts and will get a voucher if Asda is not 10% cheaper.
The free app, developed in collaboration with Asda’s parent company Wal-Mart, includes a barcode scanner so that shoppers can scan product items and add them to their shopping basket using an iPhone.
Asda is also developing an Android app and already has a mobile optimised website.
Kate Cuthbertson, Asda’s head of mobile strategy says the supermarket’s mobile strategy “is moving at pace” adding that there are more developments planned in the New Year.
