Asda's green credentials deserve to be questioned

Almost two-thirds of voters (65%) in MarketingWeek.co.uk’s latest poll believe that Asda deserves to be ranked as the “least green” of the supermarkets in a recent Consumer Focus report.

The Green to the Core study by the government-funded watchdog awarded Asda, Lidl and Aldi a D grade for sustainability.

Asda slammed the report for being “inaccurate and misleading” with a lengthy blog post on its Aisle Spy blog, which aims to make people more aware of what Asda is doing and its policies regarding sustainability.

The retailer has also stated that its Christmas campaign will not feature celebrities like those of its rivals, but focus on price and the savings that can be made over the festive period.

Did Asda deserve to be ranked as the ‘least green’ supermarket by Consumer Focus?
