BT drops Adam and Jane ad series
BT is scrapping its Adam and Jane “family” ad campaign after seven years of the series.

A new ad, set to launch in mid-January, will “evolve” the campaign and will no longer feature a family setting.
My Family star Kris Marshall will not appear in the ads, whilst Spooks actress Esther Hall’s role will be scaled back. It is not thought Marshall’s exit coincided with his six month ban from driving after being found by police asleep at the wheel in November.
The actors have appeared in 40 BT ads together since the launch of the family campaign in 2005, which has seen the couple share awkward moments, move house, break up and then get married.
In recent months, BT has co-created the storyline for the series with the public via social media and has even recruited fans on Facebook to appear in an advert. More than 1.6 million people voted to decide the Jane character would become pregnant last year.
BT says the campaign came to a “natural” close with the wedding in April and that the new ads will feature “familiar and new” faces.
