Comparethemarket launches new meerkat ad

Comparethemarket.com has launched its latest advertising campaign featuring meerkat Aleksandr Orlov, from spoof website Comparethemeerkat.com.

The ad shows the meerkat showing viewers around the fictional village of Meerkovo, explaining that the village is suffering because of confusion between the meerkat comparison site and Comparethemarket.com.

The television ad launched on 1 January.

The comparison site has also launched a website for a Meerkovian newspaper.
