eHarmony's UK chief exits
EHarmony’s UK country manager Bryn Snelson has left the company five months after taking on the role and just four weeks after the exit of its top marketer Ottokar Rosenberger.
Eharmony has also confirmed that the role of UK country manager will not be directly replaced with Jason Chuck, VP of international, overseeing operations here from abroad. However it is now also in the process of recruiting for a UK marketing director here, where its headcount numbers 12.
Snelson (pictured left) exits a little over a month after the departure of Rosenberger, who held the post of VP of international upon his exit and was formerly eHarmony’s UK country manager. The shake-up in eHarmony’s senior leadership here comes as Neil Clark Warren, who founded eHarmony over a decade ago in the US, returned to take back control of the company as CEO last year.
Since then the company has undergone a major shakeup, including the reported loss of about 100 staff, reduction of the board from nine people to two and the buy back of stock from two major investors.
An eHarmony spokeswoman says: “The changes have nothing to do with any structural changes in the US. The US continues to invest in international, in fact following the launch of the new campaign this January, eHarmony UK is experiencing its best month yet for member registrations.”
Clark Warren is also understood to be expanding the eHarmony portfolio to include products in the recruitment sector with a primary focus on the US, where it is the second largest subscription dating site behind Match.com, according to researcher IBISWorld.
