Zanussi-Electrolux is reviving its iconic “Appliance of Science” strapline as part of a major press campaign to support Zanussi’s new kitchen appliance ranges.

Zanussi-Electrolux is reviving its iconic “Appliance of Science” strapline as part of a major press campaign to support Zanussi’s new kitchen appliance ranges.

The 2m drive is the first work to be produced by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which won the 7m business last year (MW October 20).

The two executions support Zanussi’s new range of silent dishwashers and large capacity washing machines, and aim to reinforce the brand’s credentials as a stylish and innovative brand. As well as bringing back the Appliance of Science slogan, it is also reviving the brand’s yellow colour palette combined with illustrations to demonstrate the benefits of the new appliances.

Electrolux UK brand and marketing director Andy Mackay says: “The Appliance of Science as a slogan is clearly part of the Zanussi DNA. We believe consumers will welcome back the strong messaging that sits perfectly with the brand’s positioning.”

  • So glad to hear the 'Appliance of Science' line is back.I wrote it for Zanussi in 1979 as a cub copywriter at Geers Gross Advertising and we won the business on the strength of it. I worked with the line for the next 5 years but it went on after me to be used for the next 20 . Even the Italian's coined their own rhyming version of it - 'La potenza della scienza" (the potency of science) . Good stuff and I'm still available for freelance.
