Homer Simpson to be voice of TomTom
Homer Simpson’s unmistakeable tones are to be available as an optional new voice for TomTom satellite navigation systems.

The voice of The Simpsons’ character will be available for download from the TomTom website in 14 countries including the UK.
It will aim to make car journeys a more entertaining experience, with Homer guiding drivers to any location and expressing his many moods along the way.
The deal was brokered between Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and Locutio Voice Technologies, the licensee and developer of celebrity voice content for in-car GPS systems.
There are also plans to extend the availability into other countries in the near future. It will retail for £7.95.
Carl Lumbard, Twentieth Century Fox L&M Europe senior vice president and MD says: “This is a perfect brand fit with The Simpsons on all levels, appealing to the family as well as the male gadget market coupled with the universal recognition of Homer’s voice.”
Last year, TomTom, signed a deal with Vodafone to offer a real-time traffic information service, based on data collected by an integrated SIM card.
The TomTom Live models use a mobile GPRS signal to track the movement of cars in traffic hotspots and display live traffic information.
