AOL launches mobile portal
AOL UK is launching a new mobile online service that is claims will offer users "the most realistic interpretation of a full online experience". The service, launched today (November 21), is part of AOL's bid to become a major online advertising portal.
The mobile portal will offer users access to a range of AOL's products and services, including email, web and image search, and content channels.
It allows users 30 days of continuous login to their email accounts along with the ability to customise their homepage and content channels.
As part of the launch, AOL is also offering advertisers targeted mobile advertising, including targeted banner ads across the AOL networks.
Dana Dunne, chief executive of AOL Europe, says: "With mobile portals operating in the US, France, Germany, India and now the UK, we are in an even stronger position to offer advertisers original and highly targeted channels to reach their audiences."
