The deal between Syco TV, FremantleMedia Enterprises and ITV will see M&S sponsor the fashion section of the X Factor official website and The X Factor live final weekend at London’s Wembley Arena.

M&S’s autumn fashions will be previewed on the X Factor website and customers will have access to extra content from the live shows via an M&S branded video player, from October.

M&S will also sponsor competitions runing during The X Factor on ITV1 and The Xtra Factor on ITV2.

The high street retail chain will also offer customers and staff a chance to win tickets for the weekend live shows through promotions on social media, direct mail, online and in-store.

Matt Cardle won last year’s The X Factor final, which attracted 18.8m viewers.

This year The X-Factor has a new line up of judges including Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz after the show cut its ties with Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue. Gary Barlow takes over as head judge from Simon Cowell.
