Carlsberg launches outdoor ad as part of World Cup push
Carlsberg is launching a major outdoor campaign in support of its World Cup promotion, “Probably the best team talk in the world”.

The brewer, which is the official beer of the England Team, is launching the nationwide outdoor campaign, created by Billington Cartmell, today (1 March), coinciding with England’s friendly game against Egypt. It will run for two weeks across 48 sheets, Adshels and Phone boxes.
The outdoor activity will also be supported by press ads in the sports sections of various titles ranging from The Times to The Daily Mirror, as well as digital perimeter boards at Wembley during the England friendly matches.
Carlsberg UK’s director of brands and insight Paul Davies says: “This campaign demonstrates how important the fans are - we’re looking forward to getting as many as possible to show their support for the England team.”
Carlsberg’s World Cup promotion invites all England fans to show their support and upload their own team talks to the England team online. Media is being handled through OMD UK.
Last year, the beer brand signed a four-year extension to its sponsorship deal with the Football Association in September to remain the ‘official beer’ of both the England team and The FA Cup. It is also beer pouring partner.

Good for Carlsberg, although I wonder just how many brands can successfuly jump on the world Cup band-wagon and what it will return, and then heaven-help us if England don't get to far. I wonder what the contingency plan will be then, because sure enough people won't be bothering to watch the World Cup 'en masse' if England exit and after our poor showing against Ireland on Saturday (OK its a different shape ball), perhaps a national football malaise will set in! Still at least in rugby we've got two chances to reddem ourselves - Scotland, should be OK and France - whoops!
