Disney appoints Accenture exec to board-level role

The Walt Disney Company has poached Accenture executive Theresa Wise to take the new role of senior vice-president of corporate strategy and business development across the EMEA region.

TWThe Walt Disney Company has poached Accenture executive Theresa Wise (pictured) to take the new role of senior vice-president of corporate strategy and business development across the EMEA region.

She will lead Disney’s corporate strategy, business planning, corporate business development and acquisition strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and work alongside all Disney business units.

Wise, who will be based in London, will report to Kevin Mayer, global executive vice-president of corporate strategy, business development and technology, and Andy Bird, chairman of Walt Disney International. She will also sit on Disney’s European management board.

Mayer says: “As Disney continues to become a truly global company, it is important that we have someone deeply embedded in the European market to identify appropriate opportunities, foster local growth and build new businesses.”

Wise joins from consultancy Accenture where she was a partner, working across the media and entertainment sectors. Previously, she has worked for Deloitte and Touche Braxton and in strategy, marketing and sales roles for BT, BSkyB and British Aerospace.
