Guardian on top but Trinity sees biggest YOY rise
Guardian.co.uk has retained the number one position as the most visited newspaper website for the second month in a row, according to the latest ABCe results for May.

The Guardian News & Media site led the pack month on month despite a 0.47% fall to 27,194,840. Year on year it rose 48.41%. It also maintained the top spot in the UK with 9,942,175 unique users.
It was followed by Telegraph Media Group’s Telegraph.co.uk which claims to have attracted new audiences thanks to its coverage of the MPs expenses scandal. It saw a 5.75% month-on-month rise to 25,246,936. It is also not far behind Guardian.co.uk among UK unique users, with 8,623,845.
Associated Newspapers’ Mail Online came third during May, with a 6.41% month-on-month rise to 24,637,383.
But the biggest month-on-month rise was enjoyed by News International’s Thesun.co.uk, which was up 11.57% to 22,946,242. It also rose 53.51% year on year.
In year-on-year terms, Mirror Group Digital surged 80% to hit 8,693,581.
Meanwhile, in other results, News International’s Time Online fell 5.46% month on month to 20,406,420, but rose 28.52% year on year.
