Lee Cooper releases centenary logo

Louise Jack

Lee CooperLee Cooper has unveiled a new logo as part of the company's centenary celebrations. The British denim-wear brand will also launch a series of collaborations throughout 2008.

The redesigned logo retains the original Lee Cooper script in the traditional logo's red diamond-shaped background but the number 100, formed from stacked diamond shapes, sits above the writing.

The logo was designed by Ora Ito, a specialist in interior and technical design. As well as the logo, Ito has produced a collection of t-shirts, jackets and jeans for Lee Cooper based on Origami. The diamond logo is featured throughout the line.

The partnership with Ito is one of a number of arrangements Lee Cooper is planning to reveal during its centenary year.

Designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac signed a long-term co-branding deal with the denim maker last year for a new label, called JC-DC Denim Edited by Lee Cooper. The company has also licensed imagery from The Beatles albums for a new line of t-shirts and tops. Lee Cooper says it expects to enter into other collaborative deals with designers, celebrities and sports stars as 2008 progresses.
