London College of Communications graphic design student Samuel Mensah-Bonsu has created promotional posters for the British Film Institute’s Future Film Festival. Eight LCC students were invited to pitch ideas for the festival in a project led by LCC tutor Sian Cook and BFI designer Piccia Neri, before Mensah-Bonsu’s designs were chosen.
Mensah-Bonsu says, ‘My inspiration for the idea came from old sci-fi movies from the 1950s and ’60s where characters would get disintegrated or be teleported somewhere and be left as just a pile of clothes’.
The designs by all eight students will be on show at the BFI Project Space Gallery throughout the festival, which runs from 18-19 February.
