Thisislondon.co.uk relaunches as Standard.co.uk

Associated Newspapers is relaunching Thisislondon.co.uk, the site for the London Evening Standard and London Lite, as Standard.co.uk next week. It will have an increased focus on news.

Standard.co.uk, which will launch on Monday (September 29) will carry a mixture of original content, breaking news, comment and analysis, updated throughout the day.

Thisislondon.co.uk was originally created and positioned as an entertainment guide, but also carried some news from the Evening Standard. As part of the relaunch, it will now exist within the Standard.co.uk site and continue to have an entertainment focus.

The change to the Associated Newspapers site comes in a year that has seem much activity among all the newspaper websites, with many relaunching and going through extensive redesigns throughout the year. These have included Mail Online, Telegraph.co.uk and Times Online.

Trinity Group Digital this year joined the ABCe and announced a major redesign of its site and a new mobile strategy.
