Vodafone cuts 375 back-end jobs
Vodafone has cut its UK workforce by 375 people as part of a strategy to streamline its back-end office staff and boost its customer-facing workforce.

The roles will be vacated within the next two weeks but Vodafone said it will offset the reduction by hiring 170 people in customer-facing roles and 50 graduates in September.
Vodafone is making the cuts as part of a plan to cut costs by £1bn.
“We’ve removed some roles that are in the back end of the office,” said a spokeswoman. “It’s part of our strategy to increase our customer-facing staff.”
In a statement to the press, Vodafone said, “There will also be additional changes as further efficiencies and natural attrition in these functions take effect.”
