Virgin Media names strategic insights chief
Virgin Media has completed its senior marketing team restructure with the addition of a director of strategic customer insights and 1-2-1 marketing.

The new role is being handed to Michael Payne and is part of the newly formed customer marketing organisation at Virgin Media. It follows the appointment of Jeff Dodds as executive director of brand and marketing.
Payne is currently 1-2-1 marketing director at Lloyds Banking Group retail division. He joined Lloyds in 2006 as sales and marketing director of the consumer banking division of Lloyds TSB. He has also led the customer marketing and strategy group at Accenture.
The shake up at Virgin Media to create a “Customer Marketing Organisation” department is led by recently appointed chief marketing officer Nigel Gilbert. The aim is to bring together customer insight and other departments alongside brand and marketing.
