TripAdvisor runs ad competition for travel brands
Travel review site TripAdvisor is holding a competition for travel brands and agencies to design a creative ad campaign to run across its site.

The winner will be awarded just over £200,000 of ad space on TripAdvisor.
The deadline for entries is 1 August and the winning campaign will run on the site from August through September. The campaigns will be judged by a panel of TripAdvisor sales and marketing experts.
Martin Verdon-Roe, TripAdvisor’s director of sales, said, “Brands have the freedom to develop an engaging campaign that tells a story and shows what they stand for, rather than just focusing on ROI.”
In March, TripAdvisor rolled out a flight search engine in the UK enabling users to search for flights from every major airline and low-cost carriers including easyJet.

So they're "crowd-sourcing" their advertising?
And a lot of people will spend a lot of time creating rejected ads?
And tripadvisor won't need to spend any time developing a relationship with an agency?
What a silly waste of resources.
